We woke up before the sun and stopped off to fill up the tank before 6 am. It is drizzling and since we are starting this journey in Kansas that days out look can only go up from here.

Actually, today we will reach our final destination. A place we hope to call home for a while. We have never lived anywhere but the south and have only visited Colorado a few times. We are so blessed that my Aunt and Uncle has a place for us and the fur children to stay for a bit while we get settled. I cannot wait for us to get this amazing opportunity to explore a state that has captured my heart.

To be honest, a lot of people, when they think of Colorado, they think mountains, and while there are gorgeous mountains and mountain towns, Colorado is much more than that. When first entering Colorado, it is not much different from Kansas. It seems flat and is a lot of farming land. To the south it is much more desert, but it is the mountains we came for. We have no clue where we will end up living in the state, for now we will call Monument, CO home.

And those mountains, they do not disappoint. They are my sigh of relief, my welcoming home that I have been waiting for. I could cry if we weren’t lost and trying to find our way to my Aunt and Uncle’s house. It takes us two hours and we are there. We have made it to our final destination. Our new home, Colorado……….. now to unpack the truck!
